YTB Unwraps A Nice Bonus…

Digg me

As kids, we always want toys under the Christmas tree. As we age and get older, our interest in toys appears to change. For yours truly – they get a bit more technical and more expensive.

Hey – I still love my toys. ;-P

Money Under The TreeI would imagine however that a sizable percentage of us however would be very happy with cold hard cash under the tree as we get older. If I had to guess, it’s because cash gives us the ability to buy exactly what we want.

I have no idea what other companies are doing this year for Christmas in regards to Christmas bonuses. I would imagine that some will continue to ride the “bad economic times” coat tails. Bad economy or not, I remember two years when instead of a bonus – either myself or Ronda got laid off right around Christmas time.

And some wonder why we don’t consider a “job” very stable and looked at something like Network Marketing to earn income.

See – at least in Network Marketing or Direct Sales YOU control of how much you make. You’re paid in direct proportion to the results you produce. Which for those who have been brain washed into thinking you only need to exchange time for money is a real problem. For those that actually get this concept and take control of their time to treat MLM like a legitimate business (despite the low cost of entry) it can produce very lucrative results.

For anyone who’s not afraid of sales and knows how to manage their time and activities properly, there’s nothin’ better or more rewarding.

That being said – I’d challenge anyone to provide me with a bonus offer like the one I received late last week that kicks off today. Here’s a company that puts YOU in the drivers seat and enables you to create your own bonus this year.

It’s not like a traditional bonus. It’s one that you have to earn. But it’s also one that puts you in the drivers seat – enabling you to create your own outcome.

Here’s how it reads:

Earn a 25% BONUS this Christmas!

Introducing YTB Unwrapped this week – December 5-11, 2011.

With the big holiday gift giving season upon us, YTB wants to help make it a bit more manageable. For one week only beginning Monday, December 5, you’ll have the ability to earn a 25% bonus when you sell over $500 worth of products (excludes Travel Program Sales). And, that’s on top of your normal commission payout!

Here’s how it works:
Sell at least $500 worth of products (such as Suklaa, GreenTech, Z Mobile, or Ganovia) in any combination to non-Rep customers and we’ll pay you 25% of your retail amount sold.

For example, anyone who sells $500 will receive a bonus of $125 plus commission!

YTB Unwrapped begins Monday, December 5 — 5:00 p.m. Central with a special webcast on www.ZamZuuTV.biz

YTB Unwrapped will rebroadcast all week long at the top of every hour through December 11. Each product line will have its own 10-minute spot with 2 minutes in between. (We’ll also post these on our YouTube page to share individually with a prospective customer!)

Start scheduling appointments or host a party to showcase one or all of the YTB Family of products this week!

A couple points of clarification on what qualifies:
Shipping and taxes are not included in the retail price for this promotion. Sales are calculated to full paying clients outside of the YTB company. Sales at Rep pricing are not eligible for this bonus.

Let’s make this Christmas even more joyful with a 25% bonus!

~~~
I gotta tell you – this is why I love YTB and what it stands for. It’s product driven and empowers those who get Direct Sales and results based income. If you have the capacity to grasp the tools provided and the fact that you’re in control – it’s an incredible and very generous offer.
It should make Christmas very merry this year anyone who goes out an earns it.
Direct Sales Success Featured On GMA
Digg me
Please accept my apologies for not getting this out sooner. I’m not a big fan of Network News and typically avoid the media and news programming altogether.  All the negativity that’s broadcast on these programs is unnecessary baggage that slows me down when I could be doing something else that’s more productive. If it’s important enough for me to find out about, it’s going to find it’s way to me via another format and time.
Such a clip made it to my inbox earlier this week that not only caught my eye, but wanted to share with you.
Why did this news piece catch my eye? Because it features an industry that helps more then 16 million people make ends meet in a $28 billion a year industry. They call it Direct Sales, but it’s also been known as MLM or Network Marketing.
What I want to highlight in this piece is how our industry literally came to the rescue for these families when traditional models failed during the turmoil and poor economy everyone felt in late 2008 – 2009. Businesses tanked, a spouse was laid off – and in one instance – both lost not only their jobs, but their home as well.
In all these cases – Direct Sales companies provided a viable answer and income to provide for themselves and their families when “traditional models” failed. A theme Ronda and I are all too familiar with.
From 2000 to 2005, I was trapped on a roller coaster ride of different companies. Every one of the companies I went to work for told me about the limitless mountains I could climb – only to be dropped on the other side in an uncontrolled free fall. Some downsized, others ran out of money, another was bought out and replaced employees with “friends and family”, and another was shut down, with the founders jailed for cooking the books. When the last company I worked with filed for bankruptcy, it was obvious that this so called “American Dream” that I was told would provide for me and my family – was one big ol’ lie.
Even Ronda wasn’t immune. While she had a very lucrative position with BellSouth, we were constantly walking on egg shells every time another round of lay offs popped up. After six years of service with the company – she too was let go so the big boys at the top could afford their plush positions and bonuses.
There’s an old Buddhist Proverb that says “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” That’s what Direct Sales has been for us and from the examples listed in the Good Morning America piece – they were ready too.
Direct Sales has been a viable model for over 100 years. While it gets it’s share of critics who simply won’t understand – because they won’t actually “work” to make it happen for themselves, the industry deserves a sincere and honest look.
Millions of people are involved in the industry on a spare time, part time, and even a full time basis.
Could all 16 million be wrong?
If you’re a clueless and obnoxious anti-MLM zealot who desperately needs to be right, obvious yes. But for us normal folk would posses common scenes and the most elementary reasoning skills – certainly not.
That’s not to say the Direct Sales is for everyone. Many simply aren’t equipped and won’t welcome or embrace it’s benefits. It’s not always easy – and it’s certainly not “quick”. For anyone new, there are quite a few limiting believes – or weeds that need to be pulled. However, if you have enough belief in the product and eventually in yourself – there’s literally no amount of money you could think of that’s not possible in this model if you want it and actually work for it.
Like the article says right at the beginning – all these women had to do was turn up the heat on their commitment to generating a serious paycheck.
Turn up the heat in the traditional world and you could end up being fired. ;-P
MLM has it right…
Digg me
I received my ASTA SmartBrief this week and was floored at one of the columns highlighted in this week’s mailing.
Before I move forward, I need to put out some sort of warning here that readers should not be drinking any type of liquid at this point in time. (All the sugar in your Kool-Aid will ruin the monitor and cause the keyboard to stick.) When you find out who the author is, you’ll be just as surprised as I was. (As others have asked if this is the same now famous critic of YTB we’ve all come to know – but not actually love.)
Truth is, if there’s anything going on about YTB, you’ve got to know at this point in time that John Frenaye isn’t far behind. He’s pretty famous in our company for trolling the internet on anything YTB. It makes no difference if it’s one of his peers in the industry, a District Judge, an industry Power List, or an articulate member of YTB – John has an uncanny way of coming up with a “Yeah-But” or a “Look over here” piece to take the focus off the main subject and point you down a road that conforms to his own perceptions and beliefs.
Although this article is riddled with some pretty absurd perceptions of how MLM takes things to the extreme, you can judge from you own actions and experience if it has any value. Personally, I’ve never lost a friendship over YTB and nobody’s ever vowed to never speak to me again. Furthermore, I’ve never been approached by anyone about any opportunity while standing in line at that grocery store.
We can simply kick those perceptions to the curb for the time being.
I do however, have to give John some credit for pointing out some very basic and solid business skills that MLM does in fact excel at. Based on my own experience with YTB, my business looks very much like his “traditional business” in every aspect. Based on those of you I personally know in this company, I think you’ll agree that yours does too.
All the snide and exaggerated comments and perceptions aside – there is something for the new recruit here to learn about why MLM works.
Referrals are as simple as John says they are. Do you know anyone who might be interested in selling travel, or picking up some extra income on a part time basis? The beauty of MLM is that you work when you have time. It’s not like a regular part time job that you have set hours, and quotas that you need to meet. Which can also be a problem for some. It’s far too easy to think that you don’t have the time. The vast majority of our company work YTB on a part time basis with regular jobs and families to tend to.
Think about it…doesn’t asking for referrals sound much more attractive than hounding someone in line at the grocery store? (Who’s really tried that anyway?)
When it comes to follow-up, the company has a very cool system in place called the YTB System. I’ve used something similar to this my entire carrier with YTB. Not only does it capture qualified leads for you, but also notifies you when a prospect has looked at the program. Notifications are also sent when they’ve returned and what they’re looking at while on the site. Using a system like this allows you to sort, not chase. For those who work YTB part time, this puppy is a real time saver. You’ll find yourself working with and talking to qualified prospects who are truly interested in what you have.
It’s all about working smarter not harder. However, the entire system is wasted if you don’t follow-up. It doesn’t have to be nearly the nine times John talks about. (I personally only spend half that much time before moving on.) But the money truly is in the follow-up.
Lastly, I’ve never seen a company with more products, or more streams of income than YTB. All I bought 5 years ago was a booking engine to sell travel. I was also given the opportunity (meaning it was a free opportunity) to sell booking engines as an added stream of income. Today, I’ve got something for hunters, golfers, newlyweds, and with the addition of shopYTB, just about any other product under the sun. If it’s available online, I probably have it. Heck, I’ve even got beef jerky if that’s what you’re into. (Or in John’s case – girdles!)
Yes, I know there some ribbing going on about that sort of thing. Honestly, neither the jerky nor the girdles get me all that excited. But I’m certainly not going to knock the women of YTB for going nuts about girdles. (I know better – and if John was still married, he probably would too.)
These skills, principles, and the model really DO work. It’s why Avon is still around after more than 120 years. It’s the same reason Earl Tupper pulled Tupperware off store shelves in 1951 and has been sold via the MLM and the Direct Sales model for almost 60 years. After a decade of selling Nutrilite Products via MLM, two guys founded the American Way Association in 1959, which we know today as Amway. (Amway now owns Nutrilite Products Corporation.) In 1963 Mary Kay Ash started with 9 “beauty consultants” which today has expanded to 32 countries. In 1977 a good ol’ southern boy for Georgia founded A.L. Williams and just two years later, J. Lloyd Tomer joined the group just before the company outsold the entire insurance industry for 7 straight years in a row during the mid to late 1980′s.
And today you have a little company based in Wood River, Illinois who has been able to sell $424 million in travel in its 8th year in business.
There are hundreds of companies who sell via this model because MLM does have it right. (Take a look at the DSA list for more than 200 of them.)
True, it’s sad that John and others can’t seem to get out of their own way at times when it comes to some of the ridiculous and outlandish beliefs. Just remember, don’t take it personally. (Unless you’re the one person who pestered him in the grocery line. ;-P)
Truth is, MLM is more like their traditional business than they’ll ever know.
The only difference is some get that, and some don’t.
YTB Listed In Direct Selling News $100 Million Club
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Digg me
Direct Sales date back thousands of years with roots in Egypt, Syria, Babylonia and India. Traders, merchants and caravans are examples of the early direct seller who formed this ancient tradition and basic need to exchange goods. Fast forward to a century ago here in the U.S. and you’ll find the birth of The Direct Selling Association (DSA) who will celebrate it 100th birthday next year. As a fan of Direct Sales, I wrote an article about one of the oldest Direct Sales Companies still in existence today. Founded in 1886, they’re a real powerhouse today – producing $10.7 BILLION in annual sales. Never heard of The California Perfume Company? They changed their name to Avon in 1939.
0909_coverstory_introWith all the economic news that this country has had to endure over the last year, it’s refreshing to see one business model that’s not only surviving, but thriving in these tough economic times.
Direct Selling News just released a comprehensive list of the the worlds top direct selling companies with wholesale revenue of $100 million or more. On the list we find some very old and prominent companies such as Avon, Mary Kay, Primerica Financial Services, Herbalife, Tupperware, Nu Skin, Shaklee, ACN, Pre-Paid Legal, Market America, Keller Williams, Pampered Chef, Southern Living At Home, and oh…lookie here…YTB International.
If you’ve never heard of this list before – well, it’s never been out before. Think Travel Weekly Power List here, but for the Direct Sales Industry. For the first time, Direct Selling News decided to come up with a list of it’s own for the Direct Sales Industry. I realize that for some, Direct Sales doesn’t amount to much, (in fact, it’s despised by some who just plaster the word “pyramid” on what ever they like) but when you look at these sales by the numbers, and compare them with some of the dates these companies were founded, you have to admit it’s pretty impressive list of “Networkers” who some claim will eventually run out of people.
The purpose of the list in Direct Selling News was to “journal the might of the direct selling industry”. In the report, YTB International ranked #46 overall with $162.5 million in sales. Not too shabby for a company that’s been a very heated topic in the travel industry, had it’s share of legal battles and has been a daily rant for a select few with a false and limiting belief that Direct Sales is a sham. While YTB’s numbers are fairly straight forward, reporting it’s numbers to the SEC as a publicly traded company, like the travel industry, very few Direct Sales companies do the same.
Like Travel Weekly, Direct Selling News made every effort to verify sales in this industry with checks and balances via sources like Hoover’s Company Records and Dun & Bradstreet, SGA Executive Tracker Companies, Standard & Poor’s Descriptions Plus News, Company Briefs–Gale Group, Global Duns Market Identifiers, Market Guide Company Profiles, America’s Corporate Finance Directory and Directory of Corporate Affiliations.
According to Direct Selling News, one thing became clear during their research: A number of Direct Sales companies are still growing despite the economy and despite all the misrepresentations and myths surrounding the industry.
“Almost miraculously, our organization has continued to grow,” says Joe Urso, Aerus Chairman and CEO. “Selling high-end products is not easy, especially in a down economy. Our team has continued to grow by inspiring others to pursue the opportunity for a better life that we offer.”
The report also states that USANA recorded its sixth consecutive year of record sales, Pampered Chef had a 5 percent increase in recruiting and Tastefully Simple product sales bumped up 5 percent. And like YTB’s Founders are telling their field or TSO’s and Website Sellers right now, Executives from other companies are telling people that despite the economy, their companies are not only larger in regard to revenue, but are coming out of this recession better than ever.
From the report.
And many direct selling executives tell us they believe the industry will emerge from the recession bigger, faster and stronger. “Over the course of the next few years,” says USANA President Fred Cooper, “we anticipate USANA—and the network marketing industry in general—to continue to show patterns of growth.”
Emerging bigger, faster and stronger has special meaning for those of us in YTB. The company wasn’t fighting just the recession and the poor economy. Just over a year ago YTB was in another club, sued for $100 million by a bunch of ambulance chasers who wanted a quick buck. A year later, the class action thrown out for being redundant, immaterial, impertinent, and scandalous, YTB is prominently placed in a $100 million club for actual sales with another prestigious group of peers.
My how things have changed for YTB as the debate over pyramid crumbles and legitimate rises from the ashes.
Congratulations to all 65 members of this list. You’re the cream of the crop in the Direct Sales Industry who have collectively produced billions of dollars in revenue – one person – one sale – one day at a time.
YTB – “Very Optimistic” This Week
Monday, August 24th, 2009
16
Digg me
According to YTB’s 10Q filing with the SEC, the office of the Illinois Attorney General has agreed to extend the date by which YTB must respond the Illinois complaint to this Wednesday, August 26, 2009. If you’re not aware, or forgotten due to last months Convention and the improvements YTB is currently enjoying we wanted to prepare you that another chapter is about to revealed for discussion of both pro and con on blogs, forums and message boards all over the internet. (We are talking about YTB after all!)
illinois_capitolBefore the ink was able to dry on the California Settlement on May 14th, Lisa Madigan, the Illinois Attorney General, filed their civil complaint against YTB and the Founders the same day. Many of the claims and allegations were a mirror image of what was found in the California complaint. Although Illinois had opened an ongoing “investigation” that started just days after the California complaint filed last August, 2008, Illinois apparently chose a “wait and see” attitude. (Possibly in the hope that California would be successful in shutting YTB down.)
YTB management obviously can’t discuss legal matters publicly or with the field. However the two words we hear over and over from the Founders and Executives is “very optimistic”. We would agree with this optimism based on the successful settlement agreement in California, and the Illinois class action that has already been thrown out. The allegations brought against the company are based in fear, myths, and deception and one needs to keep in mind that the foundation of court rulings and decisions are based on fact and documented law.
We’re not going to bore you, (or for that matter insult or taint your intelligence) with the gross misrepresentations and allegations made against YTB. Other than claims that YTB continues to promote Royal Caribbean, NCL and IATA as a benefit of joining – the premise of the entire complaint is based on the belief that one must to “pay to play” for the opportunity to recruit others into the YTB business. (The “gigantic pyramid scheme” mantra.)
We possibly need to elaborate for you, like YTB will this week with the courts that the YTB model, as it has always been from day one, does not require payment for the opportunity to recruit others. Nor does YTB “pay” someone simply to recruit.
The $449.95 provides a travel website and $49.95 a month provides the continued maintenance of a travel website in order to sell travel. (Travel sales generated from these travel websites were documented at $424 million in 2008) Payments to the field as either an Associate or Website Seller (Rep) are dependent on the travel site (or product) being sold and maintained. Most Host Agencies such as Uniglobe, Travel Planners International, Nexion, MTravel, Expedia Cruise ShipCenters, and Dugan’s Travels are also dependent on the sale of sites being sold to others (in order to therefore generate travel sales) and all charge a startup fee and monthly maintenance fee for website hosting and maintenance of a booking engine, support, training, licensing, and/or E&O insurance for their product or service.
As we’ve found so many times before, all the focus and attention is pinned directly on the Network Marketing aspect of the company while all rules, customs, and normal business practices are thrown out the window. Instead of YTB keeping the money generated from payments of $449.95 and $49.95 a month as other hosts do, YTB pays field representatives for sales they produce and maintain in their own organization. Limiting beliefs are compounded by critics, Attorney Generals, and former Reps who failed, based on the fear that everyone does not have the same opportunity to generate income in this fashion. There are additional phobias based on the MLM model running out of prospects, instead of realizing that it takes personal responsibility, action and effort to build an organization. To compound the emotion of these fears and phobias, the model in some cases does generate millions of dollars of income for common everyday individuals who go to work, promote and build a business of other websites under them. (As documented in both the 2007 and 2008 Rep Income Disclosure Statements.)
The cost for such an opportunity? Not a single penny.
Avon, Mary Kay, PrePaid Legal, NuSkin, EcoQuest, Amway, Primerica, Fuller Brush, and HerbaLife have all built their business via the Network Marketing and Direct Sales model for multiple decades, generating billions, no…TRILLIONS in income. However, fears concerning the window of opportunity for YTB will soon end for someone at the bottom of the pyramid. Because of this unfounded and undocumented belief, there are those who feel its up to them to step in and protect others from something that has never – EVER happened.
Is there any question that YTB believes it has meritorious defenses to the claims and intends to vigorously defend its case based on fact, not perception?
Regardless of your keen understanding and intelligence to see YTB for what it truly is, YTB should be able to successfully defend the misrepresentation and limiting beliefs made in the complaint filed by the Illinois Attorney General. Unlike the many blogs, forums, and bizarre emotional outbursts we see concerning the YTB company, it’s Founders, and the people involved, on the internet – the legal system instead must favor on the side of actual documentation and facts, not perception.
Digg me
I realize that everyone wants my take on the 10-K that was filed on Monday. I’ll be happy to get to the 10-K once I’ve had a chance to actually read the document. I’ve been out of town the last few days, and would like to check a couple of facts. Although I have had an opportunity to read some of the posts already out; I have to say that I’m not impressed with some of the analysis from either critics or experts. (And particularly critics pretending to be experts.)
There will be plenty of time for my critics to make excuses about my take in due time, but for those of you who respect my analysis, I’d rather take the time to digest and find a little more documentation for you to combat the narrow minded thinking out there on the internet right now.
Deal?
Celebrity Apprentice on NBC Sunday NightInstead I’ll be promoting one of my favorite celebrities, and one of the few shows I actually watch for entertainment. This article on the Celebrity Apprentice was originally scheduled for today, since the show this weekend was of particular interest to those of us involved in MLM and Direct Sales. I got a big laugh out of a post on Tuesday, knowing that this article and episode was scheduled. Odd that the author of the post didn’t know that this episode was being aired this weekend. Kind of one of those “ouch” moments if you ask me. Yet the claims persist about him being some sort of an MLM expert.
I happen to enjoy it when MLM goes ‘main stream’ no matter who they are, because it helps all of us who actually work in this industry. It’s been said many many times that “The Donald” actually supports the MLM or Direct Sales business model. It’s my guess, and it’s JUST as guess, he STILL supports the model since the ACN Video Phone will be featured on this weekends episode of Celebrity Apprentice. (Gee, ya think?!)
The celebrity contestants will be tasked this weekend with developing a launch event to showcase the new ACN Video Phone technology. The hope is that this new ACN Video Phone will change the way people communicate by allowing them to see the person they are talking to, not just hear their voice on the line; therefore celebrity contestants will be judged on how much energy, excitement and emotional appeal they convey in their unveiling.
“The Celebrity Apprentice is an opportunity for ACN like none other. We are excited about having the celebrities unveil our ACN Video Phone to the world. This is a break-through technology that will literally revolutionize the way we communicate and will be in millions of homes in the near future,” said ACN President and Co-Founder, Greg Provenzano.
I have no idea if it’s going to revolutionize the way we communicate or not, but the fact of the matter is that this video phone is distributed though a network marketing business model and another member of the DSA. The company itself isn’t bad either, as I have lots of friends with the company and ACN has been in business nearly two decades and operates in 20 countries on three continents. My guess is that after all these years and so many countries it would be much harder for Greg Provenzano to skip town with all the millions he’s made off the backs of the Reps who actually get suckered into this type of marketing scheme. (One would think that he would have run off with all this money long ago based on what some claim about MLM Founders, but some still hold out hope I’m sure.)
ACN offers everyday services including local and long distance calling, Internet and wireless services, satellite TV and home security. In addition, the company offers digital phone service with video phones – the very latest in communications technology that is simple to use and requires a high speed broadband connection.
“I’ve come to know Greg, Robert, Tony and Mike, the Co-Founders of ACN, very well. They have built a terrific company and their new ACN Video Phone is amazing. I simply can’t imagine anyone using this video phone and not loving it. I can’t wait to see how our Celebrity Apprentice Teams launch it to the world!” stated Donald J. Trump.
If you’ve ever read “Why We Want You to Be Rich” you would know why Donald Trump supports and believes in the MLM model. (Although it’s not a book about MLM, but about being in business for yourself.) MLM is simply a business model, like any other, and some of the features Trump likes about MLM’s are low startup costs, being in business with others, and the opportunity to make as much as you want based on results. Nor does the book sugar coat any ideas of smooth sailing or false promises in business. You may have read that Trump Entertainment has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection, (for the third time no less) and l recently found out that GoTrump.com is now defunct. In case you hadn’t noticed, these are some tough economic times, but even in the midst of these times, Donald Trump doesn’t seem to stop moving forward with ideas and principles that have made him his BILLIONS to begin with.
I would imagine there will be some who will attempt to distract you with this Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in an attempt to discredit Donald Trump as being someone you should listen to when it comes to financial independence. It’s entirely up to you if you want to listen to that. Myself however, I’d consider the net worth of the person who’s attempting to keep you at the same level they are, which is more than likely broke.
Instead, I’d suggest you not only watch this Sunday night form 9 to 11PM EST, but find a product in the Direct Sales Industry that you can be passionate about and get to work on creating something for yourself. It may not happen for you the next day, the next week, the next month, or even the next year, but if you stick with it and do what other successful people do it will come.
