Letting It Go…

I started a huge task last week when I promised John Frenaye that I would get his questions answered. ALL his questions. Over the next couple weeks due to the length of this list, I’m going to focus on each of these questions one at a time. My goal here is not only to answer the question, but also point out why this question is even asked in the first place.

This will also be an excellent opportunity and tool for anyone with additional comments about each of the specific questions to get better clarification. Use the comments section to discuss each of the questions in greater detail. I remind you that I learned how to accomplish such a huge task from Brian Tracy and his courses, which teach that you focus on the each task one at a time, focus on the solution, break it down into manageable chunks, and before you know it, you’ve achieved your goal. (By the way…I just got an e-mail from Brian regarding a New Years Coupon to Save 20% on all his courses!)

It should be a really fun debate, and for those of you in YTB, take this information and documentation and use it. Here are the questions we have gone over thus far.

Question #1 -
Why a compensation plan takes 12 pages to define?

Question #2 – How YTB arrived at $226 Million in travel sold for 2006. (Still waiting.)

Question #3 – Why so little of the “training” at the annual convention was for travel. (OK, YTB only believes in training at other meetings. We can let this one go.)

While we are led to believe that there was “little” training at the annual convention, I pulled up the schedule to see if I or anyone else could spend a day or two just focused on travel. Here is a list of “Travel Related” topics from our National Convention.

Flight 150
Avoid Turbulence in Booking Cruises

Flight 675-1
Get Familiar with Your Booking Engine and Travel Portal – Know Your Product

Flight 927-1

Flight 7889-1

Flight 826-1

Flight 1179-2

Flight 978-1

Flight 388-1

Flight 815-1

Flight 8408
What’s New with Apple Vacations and our #1 Top Selling Destination Cancun

Any RTA who wanted “Travel Training” during YTBU, (YTB University) not only could have gotten it, but spent the entire time focused on nothing but “Travel Training”.

In addition, major announcements were made concerning our Travel Business during the General Sessions of the convention, including free Health and Life Insurance for those RTA’s who produce $25,000 in Travel Commissions, (just like our Directors who build teams), a travel sales contest for the Coach’s Birthday Bash, new RTA Credential qualifications and minimum booking requirements, a Two Fly Free Program for our clients, introduction of Fun & Travel Magazine with a focus on Travel, not recruiting, a new booking engine upgrade with a totally new look, and a very generous offer to all those Traditionalists out there to join YTB, one of the largest Travel companies in the country right now.

(Word has it that we’ve doubled our Travel Sales from $226 Million to $550 Million in just one year, but we’ll be rehashing that in June, don’t worry.)

Oh…and that “other training” nobody wants you to know about…
Last year YTB held two travel trade shows called Funshine. One was held in
April in San Diego, and the other was held in October in Orlando. Funshine is a “Travel Show” where our suppliers conduct seminars, and it’s also an opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of vendor specific products.

Check out what an Industry Insider said about YTB’s Travel Training.

Freed said she attended YTB’s conference in early October and saw more than 1,000 attendees in each educational forum. “The desire to learn about the travel business was evident even after I spoke to the general session (over 6,000 attendees) when the CLIA instructor followed me on stage and taught niche marketing,” Freed wrote. “No one left the room, and in fact, the overflow ballroom with big screens set up was packed as well. These folks paid for the conference, an
d there were no free meals or give-aways.”

Isn’t that the same Vicki Freed who just came on board with Royal Caribbean?

In addition, YTB holds two travel training calls each week, one is “Getting Started” on Monday nights, and the other is vendor specific call held on Thursday nights. In addition, YTB launched E-Campus, which was designed by Dr. Marc Mancini and built by TheAcademy.com. (Another course recently added YTB, check it out in your Travel Portal!) CRTA Training is held each weekend across the country with all the emphasis during the morning season focused on Travel.

Those who don’t recognize how much Travel Training YTB actually does doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Most of our Traditionalists are too wrapped up in all the recruiting we do, and that’s not too shabby either, growing by about 40,000 since the National Convention. Based on the massive numbers and growth YTB is experiencing, even with all the adversity they attempt to throw our way, YTB keeps getting bigger, better, and more powerful at every turn.

While “letting it go” is a good start, there is still plenty to let go of before some will realize what YTB is truly all about.

More Upgrades for YTB from Funshine Trade Show

The updates and upgrades keep coming from the YTB Home Office. Fresh off of Funshine East ’07, YTB’s Travel Trade Show held Friday and Saturday, October 5-6, in Orlando, FL, another major update has been made to the back office on the travel side of the business, YTB Travel Network. This new look and feel matches the updates and upgrades made back at the National Convention in August in St. Louis.

Thousands of RTA’s were given access to dozens of vendors, many of whom conducted special seminars to educate and train our valued RTA’s how to market and sell their particular product or service. Corporate Representatives who conducted these trainings came from well know and respected industry leaders such as Universal Studios, Celebrity Cruise Tours, Holland America Line, Collette Vacations, Trip Tailor, Oceania Cruises, Honeymoon Wishes, Trafalgar, Carnival Cruise Lines, Globus Family of Brands, Pleasant Holidays, NCL, Celebrity Cruise Lines, American Destinations, FunJet Vacations, and Dreamlink Golf. These hour long sessions were invaluable in providing information along with tips, resources and tools designed to give out clients the best vacation experience possible while maximizing earnings for our RTA’s.

The new look and features of the new Travel Portal (the RTA’s back office) includes the first installment of the E-Campus training designed by Marc Mancini and TheAcademy.com. Many other features include direct links and phone numbers for industry vendors including air, hotel, cruise, rail, Government tourism offices, and various tour vendors. This new upgrade also gives more a more intuitive layout and better access to links and documents in promoting and building a more productive and profitable travel business.

As a result of the tremendous group volume YTB is generating for Royal Caribbean Cruises, our own YTB Travel Network staff will begin processing your group reservations for Royal Caribbean. The Home Office staff will be using the same systems as the Royal Caribbean group desk, but will be able to give RTAs more personalized service. Knowing how much YTB books with Carnival as well, and not wanting to be outdone, I look for Carnival Cruise Lines to follow suit.

Groups of 8 or more cabins will be handled by the Home Office Group Cruise Department. Continue to book individual cruises or groups less than 8 cabins via the website or directly with Royal Caribbean.

General Royal Caribbean cruise questions will still be answered by the Travel Support Department at the same phone number, Option 3. Group bookings and quotes will be handled by the Group Cruise Department at the same phone number, Ext. 4159 or Ext. 4208.

An important note for our existing RTA’s out in the field, as always, if you want to add any group cruise to the website, you will need to download the Group Cruise Guidelines and Group Cruise Information Sheet.

Team YTB Is On The Move…

We just got back from a wonderful and relaxing Seminar at Sea with Carnival and YTB, followed by the Funshine Trade Show in Orlando. We hope you will join us next time. It was so inspiring to meet fellow YTB’ers and hear their success stories. We also learned so much from our Vendors at the trade show, we now have an even better idea of how to increase our travel bookings. We are planning to invite each of you to a Team Seminar at Sea sometime in 2007. We will be working on the details and getting the information out to you soon.

We learned at the trade show, that YTB has a Directors Challenge for anyone who becomes a director by 12/31/06, YTB will DOUBLE the Director bonuses for life. For example if you have 2000 RTA’s in your downline as a Director you receive $100,000 instead of $50,000 and so on. This has inspired Doug and me to work even harder to reach director by the end of the year. If your goal is to be a Director, you can reach it too. We are here to help you build your business, whether you are interested in booking a lot of travel, building a team and becoming a Director, or just enjoying earning money off your personal travel and the tax advantages of a home based business. There is simply no way you can loose money with YTB.

In addition: YTB now GUARANTEES that you will make money with our feature in “Success from Home” magazine. All you have to do is hand out one magazine per day and log a name, phone number and e-mail address into your back office. If you don’t make at least $6000 in commissions, YTB will make up the difference. Can you use an extra $500 per month for handing someone a magazine?

With that said, we have come up with a Team Challenge for the remainder of the year. This contest is effective 10/1/06-12/31/06. Prizes will be awarded for the following:

● Most personal RTA’s recruited

● Most 3 way calls (more info below)

● 30 total 3 way calls (more info below)

● If you are currently signed up as a Rep and sign up as a RTA for the 1st time

● If you are currently inactive and reactivate your site by 10/31/06 and keep it active.

We have found 3 way calls to be one of the most powerful tools to building this business. Therefore you can qualify to win prizes by using this tool to build your business.

Here’s how it works:

When you have someone who is interested in the business call Doug and give him a warm introduction, then stop talking and let Doug take it from there. Many of you know this works first hand, because you or someone on your team joined after being on a 3 way call. The team member who gets Doug on the most 3 way calls will win a prize. Also, you can win a prize by participating in thirty 3 way calls between now and 12/31. We have 12 weeks left, so that’s just an average of 2.5 calls per week.

We are looking forward to working with each of you in the coming months. In addition to this monthly newsletter, we are planning to have a monthly conference call and a monthly team meeting beginning in 07. We will have training on topics like “Understanding the benefits of being an RTA” and “Everything you wanted to know about booking travel, but were afraid to ask”. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions or need any help.

To your success!
