One of my favorite people in the whole world is T. Harv Ecker. His book “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind ” changed my whole perspective and financial thermostat surrounding life and money.

One of his creeds I live by to this day is: “Don’t believe a word I say – unless you can verify it on your own to be true.”

Harv is launching a brand-new 3-part Teleseminar/Webcast series called “Your Turning Point to Financial Freedom.”

And I am inviting you – your friends, family and colleagues to be a part of any or all sessions free of charge. Personally, I urge you to stick with the entire series. (Why not, it’s complimentary – and that’s hard to beat!)

In this Teleseminar, you’ll learn the 3 key strategies to creating your financial freedom in any economy.

You’ll become even more successful and watch your earnings and bank account soar.

And you’ll avoid the “feast or famine” cycle that millions of people go through.

Here’s what’s in store for you and your referrals at these life-changing sessions ….

======================================
Session #1: How to Create Financial Freedom
====================================

One of Harv’s students once asked him, “I wish I had enough money so I didn’t have to work anymore.”

“And, how much money would it take?” He asked him.

As with most people, he couldn’t say.

Listen: the key to financial freedom is to have enough money that you don’t have to work anymore if you don’t want to. Then you have the freedom to do only what you want.

The “Freedom Number” is the exact amount of money you need never to have to work again — and in this session, we show you how to calculate YOUR Freedom Number down to the penny!

Once you know your Freedom Number, your wealth-building efforts can focus on that goal. Make sense?

Session #2: The 98% Mistake
============================

In this Teleseminar/Webcast, you’ll learn how to avoid the one mistake that 98% of people make in managing their money.

Dog’s Now Chasing Their Own “Tales”?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Digg me

I had something else ready to post this morning, but found a fairy tale that was just WAY to funny that I needed to share with you. It never ceases to amaze me how low some people will go to bend and twist documentation in an effort to pitch their own perceptions and limiting beliefs.

1817_DogChasingTail_LRGIt’s no secret that there is a segment of our society that think rich people are greedy. Because this segment of society has never actually known anyone that thinks in terms of “net worth” instead of some “hourly wage”, this same segment also assumes that rich people got their money through unethical and dirty business practices. It’s one of those social memes I wrote about some time ago.

Now, take the myths and social memes surrounding rich people and combine it with Network Marketing and you’ve got yourself one heck of a double whammy when it comes to anger, bitterness, and resentment.

Case in point, our very own J. Lloyd Tomer.

While Coach is certainly loved and admired through the ranks of YTB members, there is a segment of society who spend an exorbitant amount of time attempting to knock this man off his perch because he’s obtained his wealth through Direct Sales or Network Marketing. For those of you who don’t know his story, you can Google “J. Lloyd Tomer, AL Williams” to find his bio. Here is one on the first pages that I found on Portfolio.com. (emphasis mine)

J. Lloyd Tomer, Chairman of the Board of Directors, has been a Director of YTB since December 2004. He is the father of our Chief Executive Officer, J. Scott Tomer, and is a seasoned veteran of direct sales and marketing. After spending thirteen years in the ministry, he became an agent of the A. L. Williams Company (now known as Primerica Financial Services (“Primerica”) in January 1981. He achieved the level of Senior National Sales Director in 1985 and maintained that position through 2001. While at A. L. Williams he built a successful sales organization numbering in the thousands, whose combined life insurance sales was measured in the billions, with assets under management of $750 million. He sold his agency in Primerica in January 2002. Thereafter, Mr. Lloyd J. Tomer devoted his marketing expertise to YourTravelBiz.com, Inc. He attended Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana.

Here’s a guy who build an immensely successful organization with sales in the billions and assets in the millions through Direct Sales from 1981 through 2002 thanks to capturing the dream of Art Williams back in the early 80′s. Even after the sale of the business to his son Frank in 2002, the assets and money generated from this organization were used to help fund the start of YTB in the early years.

Fast forward to today, and we find a select few are upset with Coach, an outsider, for infiltrating their business segment with a bunch of Travel Agent wannabes’. (Or so they claim.) What we end up with are obscure twists on how this man attained his wealth, lived his life, and given back to the community.

I learned a long time ago from Harv Ecker that part of the rewards of being rich is the ability to donate money or assets to organizations and associations that are important to you. When you think about it, what makes a bigger impact – $10 in the offering plate or $10 million in stock options to pay off a mortgage? Obviously creating wealth can and does have a bigger impact for those who desire to make a difference in people’s lives.

Those of you who have met Coach, spent time with him, or listened to his leadership call’s: Would it surprise you that new documentation has come to light of Coach’s generosity?

In a link provided just this morning to a court document, it has been revealed that Coach and his wife Chris donated a parcel of property to Midwest Community Church in 1998 so that the Pastor and his family could have a parsonage (a home) in which the Rev. Casey, his wife, his son age 16, and daughter age 13 could live. The property was bought by Coach in 1995, and when Coach was elected as Trustee of the Church in 1997 he donated 100% of the use of this parcel to the church.

According to the document revealed we also found the condition of the property.

Initially the yard needed to be cleaned up. All of the lights outside the house had been broken. Inside the house there were numerous electrical problems that violated the electrical code and which needed to be corrected. The house had two furnaces. One furnace to heat each side of the house. A new natural gas furnace had been brought in to heat one side of the house. It was anticipated that natural gas would soon become available in this neighborhood. However, that did not happen.

The document also reveals that at the time the land was donated, Coach’s desire was to assist in the development and growth of Church’s religious organization. Pursuant to the agreement, this parcel could be used for any purpose the Church deemed appropriate, including but not limited to a parsonage, youth retreats, church administration, or marital retreats. In return, the Church was responsible for all expenses, repairs and maintenance costs, and was to maintain adequate insurance on this property, naming the Tomer’s as a loss payee.

Because I can actually read and comprehend the documentation provided, I can deduct that Coach was enjoying a tremendous amount of success and creating substantial wealth which enabled him to purchase the property in the first place. I can also conclude that the church obviously respected his financial position by appointing him as trustee to the church. I can also assume that Coach believes in sharing his wealth and supports religious organization with very generous donations to a number of church organizations.

Not a bad way to live your life if you ask me.

Now I know this is going to upset some of you, but I need to remind you that we’re not dealing with individuals who are playing with a full deck here. (Not the sharpest tools in the shed, if you know what I mean.) I do however think it’s important to reveal how desperate and delusional some people are when it comes to mud slinging and slandering individuals who they’re obviously jealous of. They need to peck and poke in an attempt to bring others down with an obvious twist on what actually happened.

I’d advise you that you put down any drinks or food at this point because it may end up on your computer screen. Here’s the introduction of the post I found this morning concerning what happened:

Once upon a time in a land far away, there lived a man in a ramshackle house. The house was in such bad condition, that the local authorities would not issue occupancy permits. When the time came to pay the tax man, the man in the ramshackle house could not afford to pay the property taxes.

Destitute and without too many options at his disposal, he turned to God and the Church. Knowing that Church property was exempt from taxes, he “donated” this ramshackle property to his Church for only a year who decided to worship on the property and to fix up the house for their minister and his family to occupy as a parsonage.

While I can’t disagree that this donation was a “tax deduction” for Coach and Chris, (donated in December of 1997) but to claim that Coach was destitute at this time with an AL Williams business generating millions, and an elected Trustee of the church is a pile of manure that only critics can step in. What makes it comical for me is the way this guy capitalizes “TRUTH” at the end of the post which links and documents what we’ve uncovered here.

The truth is, this “expert” doesn’t expect people to actually read the document he’s provided because he’s bend out of shape as the “be-all-and-end-all” when it comes to YTB. (Arrogant and cocky I know, but that’s what he thinks of himself.) What it turns out to be is yet another documented example of the lies, deceit, and misrepresentations that are plastered all over the internet to pitch Coach as some sort of scammer. If you look at the URL that links to the court document that clearly recommend that Madison County Parcel be exempt from real estate taxation in 1998 it’s linked by hims as http://www.singleparenttravel.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Tomer-Church-Scam.pdf.

I might not be the best speller in the world and I’ve been known to make a mistake or two over the years. But at least I can read and comprehend what’s truth and what’s pure spin. And how are the critics going to answer to this blatant attempt to spin and slander? My guess is that what we’re going to find as a rebuttal is a dog’s tail isn’t spelled “tale” in an attempt to take the focus off them and back on our Founder in YTB and me.

Think it’s gonna work?

Me neither, but the faceless, nameless cowards who support this jerk as some type of crusader against the evil YTB will be jumping for joy that they’ve found more documentation and truth, when it’s obvious to me, their simply chasing their own “tales”.

Industry Manipulation…

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Digg me

I don’t know if you saw one of the headlines on the front cover of Travel Weekly’s Power List issue on Monday or not. If you didn’t because you were too caught up in the Power List rankings, I certainly can’t blame you. Regardless of whether you saw the headline or took the time to read the story, it’s another example of why we need to conduct our own due diligence when making any decision.

I’ve told people for years “don’t believe a word I say, unless you can verify it on your own to be true”. I wish I could take credit for such an insightful quote, but I have to give credit where credit is due from individuals who are far more successful than I. I first read this quote at the beginning of “Secret’s of The Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Ecker, and while I have not listened to Neal Boortz and his syndicated radio show in quite a while, he also quotes this same phrase continually.

Puppet_TimeWith the advent of internet information and the ability to find reviews and opinions on just about any subject you can imagine, it’s not all that difficult finding something you can trust as truth these days. Long before I got involved in YTB I would frequent and post on Cruise Critic. I found it a great resource to ask questions and obtain information about a particular ship, a port of call, or things to do and see while enjoying my favorite form of vacation. Back in March, Cruise Critic and Royal Caribbean came under fire for what Tripso called “paid cheerleaders” who manipulated the board for personal and financial gain. The entire ordeal caused such an uproar that one blogger went as far as calling the Royal Champions “shills” and Royal Caribbean “puppet masters” in his blog.

Now TripAdvisor is facing some of the same issues about the integrity of some of its consumer hotel reviews. It may or may not be of interest that Cruise Critic is a subsidiary of TripAdvisor, but to find this type of manipulation out in the open once again should be noted. News broke about TripAdvisor in early June when another blogger found the following notices, posted in red type above the flagged property’s TripAdvisor rating.

“Message from TripAdvisor: TripAdvisor has reasonable cause to believe that either this property or individuals associated with the property may have attempted to manipulate our popularity index by interfering with the unbiased nature of our reviews. Please take this into consideration when researching your travel plans.”

In all, 92 such notices where found on TripAdvisor, and it has stirred questions concerning how many more reviews have been compromised on the site. When TripAdvisor uncovers hotel employees writing glowing reviews, trashing competitors, persuading guests to remove negative reviews or providing incentives for customers to write positive reviews, it posts the notices. In addition, Travel Weekly reports that TripAdvisor posts this notice regardless of whether TripAdvisor and the property have an advertising relationship.

Both Cruise Critic and TripAdvisor have gained considerable notoriety and respect over the years for its unbiased reviews and opinions when traveling. (Even from me.) Regardless of all the fuss and attention over YTB and claims about being uneducated, untrained, and unqualified to promote destinations, sites like Cruise Critic and TripAdvisor have been regarded as viable sources to collect information to form opinions. Truth of the matter is, people value other peoples experience and the relationships they form either with a site or a person. I’ve participated on a number of forums and sites like Cruise Critic and have used sites like TripAdvisor when researching any subject.

What this all boils down to is integrity. I’ve sat here for several minutes in an attempt to communicate just how we as readers can pinpoint and sense integrity or the lack thereof. It’s a gut instinct that most anyone should be able to ‘out’ when reading. (At least I know I do.) While participating in any forum or blog, I can quickly form opinions on who I can trust and who is blowing smoke simply to manipulate my own beliefs and opinions. If you truly need to understand how all this works, head over to Scam.com or over the NoTravelMLMs and in about two seconds you’ll know what I mean.

Both sites are full of doting parents who need to save you because they don’t believe you have the capability of finding or forming your own opinions. Unlike Cruise Critic or TripAdvisor, if you do form an opinion that differs from theirs…about all I can tell you is good luck with defending it. (Been there, done that, and have a T-shirt they gave me that says so.)

There are many oddities in the Travel Industry and being a doting parent appears to be one of them. While I can appreciate the concern, the way this industry gets all wrapped up in saving everyone goes beyond anything I’ve ever seen. Far too much focus and attention is geared on what’s wrong here, instead of what TripAdvisor has done in attempts to correct the issue.

We are after all adults, and adults should be able to make thier own choices and decisions be it an occupation or a vacation. If the wrong choice is made, we should take responsibility for that choice instead of playing the role of victim. It’s sad to see, especially in a country such as ours that was founded on freedom of expression. Yet there are those who spend all thier time and energy being a watchdog for everyone else and manipulating how you should think and act.

You as an individual have every resource and ability to form your own opinions and choices, especially in this day and age. If it differs from others, so be it. Who’s to say that they’re right and you’re are wrong? (Or vice versa) It’s your life and your choice and that’s what matters most.

I’m okay with that.

Are you?

The Easter Egg Hunt

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Digg me

A couple weeks ago, I got an e-mail from good friend Charlie Howe with a very funny mock ESPN Press Release that President Obama and Roger Gadel would be dividing Pittsburgh’s 6 Super Bowl Trophies to teams that were less fortunate. Namely, the Detroit Lions who went 0-16 this past season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, who by virtue of hard work, excellent team play, stellar draft choices, responsible investing of free agents, careful hiring of coaches and excellent community service and commitment to their fans, has prospered greatly during the past 30 years and have won six Super Bowl Trophies. But President Barack Hussain Obama’s plan calls for the Pittsburgh Steelers to carry the larger burden of the NFL’s less successful teams. Obama went on to further proclaim, “In these difficult times we are all in this to work together. We must reclaim the NFL Championship Dream for every team, for every city and for every fan.”

easteregghuntWhile something like this sounds obsurd I began to realize a couple years ago that that’s exactly what we are teaching our children. One holiday tradition that I first noticed this was the Easter Holiday we just enjoyed yesterday. Before my children entered into grade school, they were enrolled in an academy which had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. I also noticed the same practice in our neighborhood egg hunt for the kids.

Parents would go out and hide the eggs based on a level of difficulty appropriate for the age before sending the kids out in a group to collect and find the eggs. Watching the event, you would see kids who were going all out in gathering up the eggs, while others seemed to wonder aimlessly around not really all that concerned with the activity at hand. At times two kids would race towards the same egg, but only one was able to put the egg in their basket.

After the event the kids would gather with their baskets. A few baskets would be overflowing with eggs, while others would have a paltry one or two eggs.

Not to worry, as the baskets were collected by adults the kids were whisked away to another activity while the adults divided all the eggs equally between the baskets, giving each child the exact same amount per basket. No matter how hard or little each individual child worked to collect the eggs, each was granted an amount deemed appropriate and fair.

For children, I really don’t have a problem with dividing up the eggs, until this equal division of property, money, or belongings becomes a right as an adult. I realized what an early age we teach our young this idea of taking from the “haves” to give the “have-nots”. This practice should be used with children as a lesson in sharing and giving of our resources. It becomes a problem however when it’s taken out of context and this “larger burden” is taught throughout our school years, trapping many as they grow up with this limiting belief into adulthood.

I’ve seen this type of limited thinking for years, but it’s become especially prevalent since the economic recession hit and a gallup poll I found support that thorey of growth. And for some reason, this increase has nothing to do with what they themselves are doing to create that perception. (Heaven forbid we take responsibility for our own circumstances.) Just like the Super Bowl Trophies, it’s not an excellent work ethic, stellar choices, responsible investment of money, careful attention to picking the right mentors to model and learn from, or a commitment to their family to prosper to become one of the haves instead of the have-nots.

Unless an individual actually learns what natural abundance is all about, people are held hostage by this limiting thinking. For those who have learned that it’s not a problem with limited resources (only beliefs) they don’t have a problem with sharing resources, money, or knowledge. We realize that like Doritos, you can eat all you want, we’ll make more. For some, it almost seems effortless, natural in a way. If you look at nature, it doesn’t struggle, it doesn’t hoard, nor does there seem to be any shortage of resources for each blade of grass, leaves growing on trees, or flowers blooming during this time of year. You do have to provide the proper amount of sunlight, water, and nourishment while nature takes care of the rest without any further effort on your part. You couldn’t stop it even if you tried.

My newsletter is a perfect example of abundance. By giving away what I know in knowledge about YTB to others based on my years of experience with the company, I’ve been given other opportunities and resources that support me. The more poeple I help, the more resources I have at my disposal. Old beliefs would have kept me from offering this out to everyone because the belief was there’s not enough. But because I understand the context of the teaching as a child during the egg hunt, I now reap the rewards.

We run into this fear of not enough especially in Network Marketing, all the people at the top who got in early, make all the money. They obsess over this “fact” not realizing that the theory they’re so fearful of has ever come to true. Yet they spend a considerable amount of time and energy warning everyone that comes across their path that someone is going to loose out. And like the innocent children who wondered around aimlessly during the egg hunts that were held all over the country, they as adults are left with empty promises and no money to speak of because their too distracted about what they learned while growing up.

Most NFL fans only look at the 6 Super Bowl Trophies right now and if you’re a fan of another team, look in envy of the 6 Super Bowl Trophies. Especially Cowboy fans. (Isn’t that right Charlie?) They look at the last 40 years when Chuck Noll was hired as head Coach and the dynasty that he started back in the 70′s. Nobody considers the first 40 years of their existence in the NFL when they lived in the basement with only a handful of winning seasons during their first 40 years. They were certainly one of the have-nots during that time and the laughing stock of the NFL.

When Chuck Noll was hired in 1969, he changed that way the team drafted, the way they practiced, and the way they thought about basic techniques and drills. In making these small adjustments, he changed the direction and the destiny of the team from a basement dweller to Super Bowl Champion. Instead of looking for a handout, taking from the haves as a have-not, change those childhood memories and thinking that there’s not enough and begin to think and work like those more successful than you are. That my friend is the REAL American Dream of Hope in this country. You don’t need a hand out, you don’t need the Government, and you certainly don’t need that limiting belief any longer. If you do what other successful teams or people do, you’ll begin to reap the rewards of their success.

It’s never too late to start, and your chances of creating something based on proper thinking and action, instead of waiting for some hand-out will greatly enhance your chances of success and happiness. It’s not easy, it takes some time, and there is a considerable amount of doubt the creeps in from a considerable amount of screaming and yelling going on by those who only want what’s fair based on what they were taught as a child.

It’s time to grow up and become an adult and stop complaining and start creating.

What Are The Odds?

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009
12
Digg me

I love the NFL. Currently, we are sandwiched between two weekends of 12 hours (or MORE!) of NFL football spread over both Saturday and Sunday.

Ahh, Heaven.

I’ve always enjoyed this game, and while I never played organized football as a kid, (Mom thought it was too dangerous) I dreamed of playing in the NFL. Sure I played pick up games in the neighborhood, and was able to convince my parents that flag football was safe enough to play, but I never got a chance to put on pads to pound any receivers who attempted to come across the middle. (Not in MY HOUSE) While I was too small to be a lineman, I was well suited to be a defensive back.

I recently looked up the odds in making it the NFL. As a Network Marketer, you endure critics and naysayers with extremely limiting beliefs who always point to odds. For most critics there is a real fascination and an incredible amount of attention on this illusion of the slim chance anyone has in making it in this industry. (We’ve heard of failure rates as high as 99%, while documentation concerning YTB states otherwise.) Odds can also be used as tool used to protect those we care about, or if it’s a personal shortcoming, a stat that makes us feel “average”.

Personally, I think odds are for suckers and excuse makers. Only to be pointed out to make ourselves and others feel better about our surroundings when our dreams, aspirations, and goals come up short.

I’ve often asked myself why be average? Life just seems too short, and there is too much out there to experience to settle for average. Be that as it may, as a society, we’re comfortable with “average” I guess because it makes us feel part of something bigger than ourselves.

james-harrison When you think about the odds in making it in the NFL, there are 32 teams with 53 on the roster and 22 “starters” each, which makes 1696 total, but also means only 704 of the “lucky ones” will be playing a game they love at the professional level during the short 16 week season, and only 1 team of 32 professional teams will be able to claim themselves as “Champions” at the end of the year.

If someone wasn’t drafted out of college to come to the NFL and remained undrafted, you would think there would be a considerable amount of people who would point to those odds to help them feel better. Heck, I could even justify it with odds of 1 in 100,000, and that’s only includes the college ranks.

If you follow the NFL like I do however, there are plenty who are undrafted college players who sign as “free agents” and make the cut to play in the NFL. Willie Parker was one, and so was James Harrison. “Fast Willie” made a mark for himself during Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl run, and now holds a Super Bowl record for the longest touchdown run from scrimmage. (75 yards)

James Harrison however, had a slightly rougher road to travel. Not only was he undrafted, but he was cut three times, (twice by Pittsburgh and once by Baltimore) before he made the Steeler roster last year. I’m wondering how many times he was told after being undrafted combined with being cut, three times no less, that the “odds” were not in his favor and it’s okay to be “average” when it comes to NOT making it in the NFL.

Harisson did have one claim to fame during his stints with the Steelers and the Ravens which was documented back in 2005 when he slammed an out of control Cleveland fan to the turf, WWF style no less, during a Christmas weekend game at Heinz Field. (News coverage and video can be found here.) Not exactly what you want to be known for to document an illustrious carrier in the NFL.

But Harrison, like so many others with dreams and goals, was a stubborn man. Deep down inside, there was something driving him to move forward with his dream. He didn’t care about “odds” and he certainly didn’t want to settle for “average”. Harrison was determined to make it in the NFL.

Opportunity came knocking before the 2007 season after first round starter Joey Porter moved his $5 Million contract with his big and boisterous mouth, (which coincidentally was backed up with big and boisterious plays) to Miami. Many, including me didn’t understand the move in letting someone like Porter go, but in defense of Steelers Personnel Directors, Pittsburgh has a very long lineage outstanding linebackers since the early 70′s when Hall Of Fame linebackers named Ham and Lambert wreaked havoc for opposing teams. (Both Lambert and Harrison were from Kent State.) Harrision was re-signed by the Steelers in 2007 as an afterthought one week before training camp due to Clark Haggans , Porter’s tagged replacement for the season had broken his hand.

It’s not enough to be in the right place at the right time. You have to be the right person in the right place at the right time.
~ T. Harv Eker

What if Harrison wasn’t working out before the season? What if he feared being cut again? What if he lost his dream?

What may shock some is that Harrison still believed he could contribute. He also had some lofty goals. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported that he had a goal of 12 sacks before the 2007 season started. He recorded 8.5 sacks in 2007 and doubled that to 16 sacks for 2008, the most in one season by any Steelers Linebacker, and he also leads the NFL for all Linebackers over the last two years with 24 total sacks.

During the 2007 season Harrison took full advantage of his opportunity. I still remember a Monday night game against Balitmore last year when Harrison had 10 tackles, caused 3 forces fumbles, had 3.5 sacks, and added an interception for good measure.

Joey who?

That’s what we’re now saying after his second full season as a starter in this League of incredible odds. Why, because he never gave up, he never doubted, he never waiverd from his belief that he could be something in the NFL. Today James Harrison is going to his 2nd straight Pro Bowl, named the Steelers MVP by his own team for the second straight year, and on Monday, he was named the NFL’s 1st Undrafted Defensive Player of the Year.

And some will still ask…What are the odds?

There are obsitles in everything we do in life. There are times when they appear to be outside forces that are insurmountable and other times when they, quite frankly are nothing more than self imposed. (Which Harisson readily admits in this New York Times Article.) The only thing really stopping you (or anyone for that matter) is a mear 7 inches that fit oddly enough between your own ears.

The next time someone tells you about odds, and you have a dream, a desire to dare something worthy, think about this too small, too slow, undrafted, and unwanted Linebacker who defied the odds and not only made it in the NFL, but made it in a big way.

For you, it might be time to stop hiding out, and start stepping outside the comfort of being “average” and start acting like an MVP. It’s the only way you can be in the right place at the right time, AND be the right person at the right time.

Our New Home On The Web

Welcome to our new home on the web!

While we’re very excited about our new and improved home, we’re still trying to get acclimated to our new surroundings. There’s a TON of work still waiting, some clutter to clean up, but the work load just got a little less now that I can focus all my blog time here instead of trying maintain the old blog as well.

While I was able to transfer all the old posts over with a couple of clicks, you may notice that the majority of posts aren’t formatted the same way. I’ll get to them eventually and I’ve already reformatted several of the more popular posts. I also need to dig into some “code” to make a few changes and tweaks to make this blog look and feel like I want.

It will come together in due time, and after only a weeks worth of work starting from scratch, I felt it was at least a good foundation to work from.

I didn’t mention this on Friday, but honestly feel that WordPress absolutely smokes Blogger. With what I’ve been able to uncover thus far, it makes Blogger look like child’s play. There are far more features and add-ons with this current format that you just can’t get with Blogger.

When I first saw the WordPress developer site, (WordPress.org) I caught a phrase down on the bottom right hand corner that read “Code Is Poetry”. For someone who enjoys playing with code, although a novice compared to some, I’ve really enjoyed learning and playing with these new CSS and PHP type files. This type of structure, and how all the pieces work in unison fascinates me.

Don’t let this intimidate you if you’re thinking about using WordPress however. They make it very easy to add widgets and plugins for anyone who can follow simple directions. WordPress can be very much a “plug and play” type application. However, you can get as intricate and complex as you’d like for anyone who has desire to dive in and create something truly unique.

The biggest advantage of using WordPress is that I manage the site and the content on my own server. I initially wanted to host this with my current domain service (GoDaddy.com), but while doing some research I found unlimited bandwith and storage with a company called BlueHost that I’ve been very pleased with. (BlueHost claims they’ve been rated best customer service 2004 thru 2008 and I can certainly see why.)

I did run into a small bug when transferring all the content over from Blogger, and you may notice that the vast majority of the comments did not make it to the new home. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve unpacked from a move and think to myself, why did even bother packing this? Either Blogger or WordPress didn’t feel the comments were worth packing, so I took it as a sign. The way I see it, I brought only the best with me, and left the rest of the crap at the old domain.

Speaking of comments, you may notice that they have been enabled once again. Now that I have the type of control that will allow me to manage some of the loudest and most obnoxious commenter’s that frequented the old blog, I’ve decided to enable them again. In order to comment you will need to register and you will also notice that I have a “rules” section on the blog that everyone needs to follow in order to participate here.

Here’s the beauty about all this. I can block any user name that doesn’t follow the rules. If they decide they want to sign up under a different user name and continue to ignore the rules and annoy others, the IP address can be blocked.

Another nice feature that I’ve wanted for some time, but couldn’t because of the antiquated template I used, (not Bloggers fault) is the “Add To Any” button to link you to me when you find something you like. Dislike also works well, and from what I’ve seen, I’d rather people actually link back here, so they can get the real scoop instead of some of the mouthing off I’ve seen.

The RSS Feed has been updated as well. While I couldn’t transfer you’re old subscription from Blogger to here, I have upgraded the FeedBurner account and feed for this blog to enable e-mailing to your in box when I post something new here.

There are other tricks I have up my sleeve, and based on all the research I’ve been doing and what I’ve been learning along the way I’m willing to bet I haven’t even begun to figure out what I can do with this puppy. Now that I’ve moved in, every time I open a door, there is a new feature that will benefit how I communicate with you.

Buckle Up folks, it’s going to be a fun, fun ride!

What Is Your Finacial Blueprint Set For?

Do you know your money and success “blueprint.” Each of us has a personal money and success blueprint ingrained in our subconscious mind and it is this blueprint, more than anything else, that determines your financial destiny.

Your “money blueprint” is simply your preset program or way of being in relation to money. This consists of your thoughts, feelings, and actions related to money.

Your financial blueprint consists of the “programming” you received in the past, especially as a young child. For most people, this would include parents, siblings, friends, authority figures, teachers, religious leaders, media, and your culture, to name a few. If you’ve been traveling in the wrong direction, I’m going to reveal how to set your blueprint for success. It’s simple once you know these secrets.

Your blueprint is like a thermostat. If the temperature in the room is 72°, chances are good that thermostat is set for 72°. Is it possible that because the window is open and it’s cold outside, the temperature can drop to 65°? Of course, but what will eventually happen is that the thermostat will kick in and bring the temperature back to 72°.

The only way to permanently change the temperature in the room is to reset the thermostat. In the exact same way, the only way to change your level of financial success on a permanent basis is to reset your financial thermostat, otherwise known as your money blueprint.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind reveals exactly what you need to do to reset your financial thermostat and program yourself for automatic success. And that’s just the beginning. It will also help you identify the patterns of thinking that have been holding you back, and what you need to do to turn them around.

You have nothing to lose … and are you ever going to be happy with your new lifestyle in a very short time!
